Tandoori Chicken Recipe

Description Tandoori chicken is one of the most popular non-vegetarian dishes in an Indian restaurant. The name ‘tandoori’ simply means cooked in a ‘tandoor’ or a very hot oven. Try the easy to follow tandoori chicken recipe below. *  4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
*  2 tbsp lemon juice
*  1 tbsp olive oil
*  2 tbsp turmeric
*  2 tbsp paprika
*  2 tbsp fresh gingerroot, finely chopped
*  2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
*  1 tbsp salt
*  1 tbsp curry powder
*  1 tbsp ground cardamom
*  1/2 tbsp chili powder
*  3/4 cup low-fat yogurt
Methods/steps
  1. Cut each chicken breast by making 3 or 4 diagonal cuts.
  2. Then sprinkle them with lemon juice.
  3. Combine the ingredients in a bowl and add yogurt.
  4. Mix them well - this is the tandoori paste.
  5. Coat chicken well with the tandoori marinade.
  6. Place in a bowl, cover, and chill for at least 4-6 hours or over night if possible.
  7. Place chicken breast on a preheated grill; brush with extra marinade.
  8. Grill, turning frequently, until chicken is tender and juice runs clear - about 12/14 minutes.
  9. Remove, cover with foil, and continue cooking until the chicken is crisp and slightly blackened - another 5-10 minutes.
Additional Tips
Serve tandoori chicken with mint yogurt chutney as a starter dish. Use fresh ingredients where possible. You can also make tandoori chicken using slight variation depending on how hot you like your tandoori chicken.
