*Â 2 tbsp lemon juice
*Â 1 tbsp olive oil
*Â 2 tbsp turmeric
*Â 2 tbsp paprika
*Â 2 tbsp fresh gingerroot, finely chopped
*Â 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
*Â 1 tbsp salt
*Â 1 tbsp curry powder
*Â 1 tbsp ground cardamom
*Â 1/2 tbsp chili powder
*Â 3/4 cup low-fat yogurt
*Â 2 tbsp lemon juice
*Â 1 tbsp olive oil
*Â 2 tbsp turmeric
*Â 2 tbsp paprika
*Â 2 tbsp fresh gingerroot, finely chopped
*Â 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
*Â 1 tbsp salt
*Â 1 tbsp curry powder
*Â 1 tbsp ground cardamom
*Â 1/2 tbsp chili powder
*Â 3/4 cup low-fat yogurt
Methods/steps
- Cut each chicken breast by making 3 or 4 diagonal cuts.
- Then sprinkle them with lemon juice.
- Combine the ingredients in a bowl and add yogurt.
- Mix them well - this is the tandoori paste.
- Coat chicken well with the tandoori marinade.
- Place in a bowl, cover, and chill for at least 4-6 hours or over night if possible.
- Place chicken breast on a preheated grill; brush with extra marinade.
- Grill, turning frequently, until chicken is tender and juice runs clear - about 12/14 minutes.
- Remove, cover with foil, and continue cooking until the chicken is crisp and slightly blackened - another 5-10 minutes.
Additional Tips
Serve tandoori chicken with mint yogurt chutney as a starter dish. Use fresh ingredients where possible. You can also make tandoori chicken using slight variation depending on how hot you like your tandoori chicken.
