Description Rajma Masala recipe is extremely popular red kidney beans curry dish. You can serve Rajma with plain boiled rice, roti and yogurt. Rajma is a vegetarian dish consisting of red kidney beans in a thick curry with lots of Indian whole spices. Use this easy to follow rajma recipe to make hot and spicy red kidney bean curry.

#  2 cups Rajma ( Red kidney beans)
#  Salt to taste
#  1 Pinch of Turmeric powder
#  1 finely chopped Onion
#  3 crushed Garlic cloves
#  1 inch Ginger chopped
#  2 chopped Green chillies
#  3 chopped Tomatoes or chopped tomato tin
#  1/2 tsp Corainder powder
#  1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
#  1/2 tsp Garam masala
#  2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
#  Fresh chopped Corainder leaves
Methods/steps
  1. Soak rajma (red kidney beans) overnight.
  2. Wash and pressure cook the rajma. Keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan then add ginger, garlic and chillies.
  4. Fry until they turn brown.
  5. Then add onions and tomatoes.
  6. Cook on medium heat until masala separates from oil.
  7. Add salt, turmeric powder and mix well.
  8. Add the rajma, red chilli powder, corainder powder, garam masala and stir.
  9. cook on low heat until a thick gravy is formed.
  10. Remove from fire.
  11. Garnish Rajma Masala curry with corainder leaves.
Additional Tips
Serve hot Rajma with rotis and/or boiled rice. You can also have yogurt as a side dish if you find the Rajma Masala too hot.
