Description Mango Chutney is has its roots in sounth of India, specifically the coastal state of Andra Pradesh. There are many variations and many different mango chutney recipes. Below is an easy to follow mango chutney recipe. This is mango chutney is definitely a favourite in ou household. Hope you enjoy it.

*  1 large Raw (unripe) mango
*  2 tsp Mustard seeds
*  3 tbsp vegetable oil
*  1/2 tsp asafoetida ("Hing" in Hindi")
*  3 dry red chillies
*  2 Green Chillies (only necessary if you want it more spicier)
*  1 tsp Lime Juice (only necessary if mango is not sour enough)
*  1 tsp turmeric powder
*  3/4 tbsp salt (adjust to taste)
Methods/steps
  • Peel the mango and cut into 1" cubes.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a pan.
  • Add mustard seeds, asafoetida, green chillies and red-chillies to the pan.
  • Remove pan from the stove when mustard seeds splutter.
  • Grind the above mix with mango, lime juice, turmeric and salt (to taste)
Additional Tips
Try the above mango chutney recipe at home and I am sure you will the taste of mango chutney. It can be served with numerous things but my favourite is with pappad, nanchos, as a spread on bread and of course with roti.
