Bhindi Masala
Description Bhindi Masala is a popular main course Vegetable Curry that is served with curd and Roti. Follow this Bhindi Masala Recipe and enjoy the taste of Okra Masala curry also knows as Bhindi Masala Curry. This recipe is also referred to as Bhindi Fry or Fried Bhindi.
I am not the biggest fan of Okra (Lady Finger) but have to admit this Bhindi fry recipe was yummy and will be making again very soon.

Ingredients
1. 1/2 kg Bhindi (somtimes referred to as Okra or Lady Finger)
2. 4 Medium Tomatoes
3. 2 Medium Onions
4. 2 Green chillies
5. 1 tbsp Garam Masala
6. 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
7. 1 tsp Red chilli powder
8. 4 tbsp Vegetabl Oil
9. 1/2 bunch of Chopped Coriander leaves
10. Add Salt to taste
11. 1 Bay leaf
12. 4 Cloves
Methods/steps
- Dice the onions and then the tomatoes
- Chop the chillies and corainder.
- Slice Bhindi (Okra) in long pieces.
- Heat the oil in pan and add the Bhindi pieces. Shallow Fry them. Keep the fried bhindi aside.
- Heat 3 tbsp of oil in a pan and add the Bay leaves and cloves.
- After a minute add onions and fry them until light brown.
- Add the chopped green chilli pieces to the pan.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry for one more minute.
- Add Garam masala and fry for 2 minutes.
- Add tomato pieces, red chilli powder and salt.
- Cover the pan and cook for a few minutes until tomatoes become soft.
- Add the fried okra and mix slowly. Keep on low heat for two more minutes and then remove the pan.
- Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve hot.
Additional Tips
This Bhindi Masala Recipe goes very well with Roti and some yogurt if it gets too hot and spicy.
Bhindi is also sometimes referred to as Okra or Lady Finger.
